So let's get started on our Tutorial!
Supplies:
1. 100% Cotton White Onesies
2. Tulip One Step Tie Die Colors in Orange and Yellow
3. Recommended are some craft gloves, a heavy duty plastic table cover or large plastic bags, and an apron or be sure to wear a old t-shirt!
How to Make:
1. Start by rinsing out your onesie in the sink, you want it to be damp not saturated, so squeeze out the excess water....this will ensure the die takes better to the fabric!
2. Take out your Tulip One Step Dye in orange and yellow. Fill to the top with water, shake it up well to mix, and you are ready to go!
3. It's best to start with the middle orange section first. It's easier to control the dye this way and the colors bled together best. Be sure to keep the orange line under the armpits of the shirt but don't worry too much about making it a straight line!
4. Next, you will do the bottom portion yellow, going right up to the orange section. You can even slightly overlap onto the orange if you would like. Be sure to pretty much saturate the area so that the dye goes through to the back of the onesie. This way you don't have to deal with flipping it over to do the back side!
5. Now just let the shirt sit where it is and allow the dye to sit for 4-6 hours!!
6. Wash the onesie out in the sink until the water runs clear. Be sure to wash with the white portion on the top and the water running down!! The colors will blend slightly but this is to ensure that none of the yellow or orange run on the nice white portion.
7. Now just wash it like normal BY ITSELF with a small amount of detergent and dry on normal settings!
Adorable Right?! |
